What defines a microschool?

Small Class Sizes
Typically, micro schools have 5–15 students per class or group, allowing for more personalized attention and deeper relationships between students and educators.

Multi-Age Grouping
Instead of traditional grade levels, students are often grouped by developmental level or ability, fostering peer learning and collaboration.

Individualized Learning
Instruction is tailored to each student’s pace, interests, and needs—often combining project-based learning, self-paced curricula, and experiential education.

Flexible Curriculum
Micro schools often blend core academic subjects with enrichment activities like STEM, arts, outdoor exploration, and life skills.

Teacher as Guide or Facilitator
Educators act more as mentors or coaches than lecturers, helping students take ownership of their learning.

Community-Oriented
Many micro schools emphasize strong relationships among students, families, and teachers—creating a close-knit, supportive community.

Innovative & Alternative Approaches
Micro schools may draw from educational philosophies such as Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Waldorf, or project-based learning, and often prioritize emotional and social development alongside academics.

Experience why our children are HAPPY to learn!
